 Cary Brent Barron, 56, of 55 Foster Lane in Morganton, remains in the Fannin County Jail, charged with multiple offenses against a male victim under the age of 16.

Fannin County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Jesse Godsey said Friday the Fannin County 911 Center received a call June 2 reporting a domestic dispute involving a gun.

An investigation led to Barron initially charged with Simple Assault/Family Violence.

Godsey said his further investigation, which turned up corroborating evidence, resulted in Barron being charged with Aggravated Child Molestation, Aggravated Sodomy, Sexual Exploitation of Children, Cruelty to Children in the First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During Commission of a Crime, and Possession of a Controlled Substance/felony amount of marijuana.

The investigation continues alongside the GBI, Godsey said.

Barron awaits a bond hearing in front of a Superior Court judge.
