Citizen Staff Report:
The McCaysville Police Department and Post Office Buildings have been deemed unsafe for occupancy and are closed until further notice due to significant flood damage.
McCaysville mail can be picked up at the Morganton Post Office starting Monday. This includes PO Boxes.
The Police Department will relocate to 1000 Blue Ridge Drive, the former Dr. Woods Medical Office, temporarily.
McCaysville Police Chief Michael Earley requests that post office officials, “kindly ask that you do not go to the Morganton Post Office until Monday, to allow our Postmaster and postal employees the necessary time to safely transfer mail and complete the transition.”
Furthermore, Municipal Court has be closed for the month.
Earley states, “We understand these changes will create an inconvenience for many of our citizens, and we sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding and cooperation during this challenging time. Please know that the City of McCaysville remains committed to serving our citizens through this recovery.”
